“Dowds' Country Inn was beautiful and picturesque, and charming in that way that only old buildings can be. The sign was very difficult to read at night, but once we found the place, we loved it. Just beyond the inn parking lot you could see a beautiful herb and vegetable garden. The entryway was beautiful and inviting. “This was our favorite stay for our 7-day New England trip! After a hectic day exploring Vermont towns with thousands of other tourists, it was a breath of fresh air to pull into peaceful Lyme. The inn is well appointed with gorgeous gardens and sitting areas. Comfortable rooms with tasteful decor. Easy parking. The onsite restaurant is wonderful! “The Inn is historic, beautifully decorated and comfortable. Our room was clean and pleasant. We enjoyed specialty cocktails while chatting with a friendly bartender about the Inn and the area. Staff was friendly and helpful. In the morning we enjoyed pastries and coffee in a gallery sitting room. Lovely stay. ”
